This is one of the pile of library books my girls pick up every three weeks. My wife doesn't always come with us, but she did this last time. She had some Christmas idea; something about a book a night with the girls related to Christmas. The book a night thing hasn't happened, but she did successfully pick up about 15 Christmas themed books from the library.
I am one of those obnoxious parents that when asked by my kids if Santa is real, I say, "no," or maybe, "well there was someone who Santa is based off of, but is there really one guy who sneaks into everyone's house and gives presents: No."
This book was fun for the kids, but it attempts to give a practical explanation for all the crazy superstition around Santa. The format is question and answer. The questions come in the form of handwritten questions from children presumably addressed to Mrs. Claus the way a letter to Santa would be written. Questions like, "What do elves wear?" Mrs. Claus then proceeds to answer the questions in a matter-of-fact way. Again, fun for the kids.
The book was kind of long. It took us 20 to 30 minutes to finish, and I was ready to be done with the book about half-way through. For a Christmas themed book, it was one of the better ones.
The book can be purchased from Amazon.com here.
